Challenge yourself
Wish children are faced with the challenges of illness daily. Set yourself a challenge to show your support – whether it be a physical or personal challenge. Skydive, run, cycle, swim, hike, or even abseil from a building! There are endless ways to challenge yourself to make wishes come true.
Create your own challenge
Ever dreamed of climbing Aoraki Mount Cook, attempting a world record, or challenging your mates to a ping pong tournament? Here’s your chance to follow that dream, while making wishes come true!
Kihikihi Bowling Club held a bowls tournament, fundraising $1,000!
Cycle
David packed up and set off in a motorhome with his wife, Annie, and their 3 kids. From Bluff to Cape Reinga, he travelled with his family and cycled the length of NZ, raising $25,000!
"I love doing good for people and communities, so whilst seeing NZ by bike, it was a chance to fundraise for a wonderful New Zealand charity. Make-A-Wish provides enduring memories for the family to treasure. And they have done the same for us in a way. It has been a privilege to have been able to do this."
Take part in a race
Frances ran the 60km Kepler Trail Race and raised $8,030!
“I ran for Make-A-Wish because they changed my sister’s life.
In 2010, my sister, Hazel, became incredibly unwell. We had moments when we were unsure whether Hazel would ever be the same bubbly, empathetic and courageous human ever again, let alone survive. I cannot tell you how much of a positive impact her wish has had, and the team at Make-A-Wish have become lifelong friends. Our family cannot thank them enough for organising a once in a lifetime opportunity for Hazel.
I felt so driven and grateful to run and fundraise for Make-A-Wish. It’s the least I can do for a foundation that has had such an influence on a very special sister I care a whole lot about.”
Frances’s sister, Hazel, had her wish granted in 2012. Watch her story here: Make-A-Wish New Zealand - The Impact of a Wish
